On Call Chandon Ambassador

Domaine Chandon is seeking a On Call Chandon Ambassador (start date: April 2015)

Reporting to the Visitor Center Manager, the Domaine Chandon Ambassador to communicate the uniqueness of Domaine Chandon and Newton Vineyard, through a consistent and impactful Brand message, while exhibiting excellence in customer service, in order to create a world-class experience for every guest.

The Domaine Chandon Ambassador will be responsible to:

Create a High-Quality Visitor Experience:  (60%)


• Represent our wines and Brand in a friendly, professional manner both at the winery and in the market.

• Perform wine service and tastings for all visitors including wine trade and VIP's, in a Brand-consistent manner.

• Facilitate scripted tour, adding consistent quality to delivery and accuracy of message.

• Safely escort tours through tour route, adjusting to the needs of the winery.

• Consistently discuss benefits of food with wine, up selling and recommending food purchase in the Salon as well as reservations at étoile restaurant.

• Suggest multiple-bottle purchases, in addition to adding-on merchandise to each sale.

• Convey all levels of club benefits to all visitors with clarity and sincerity.

• Meet monthly club acquisition goals, consistently striving to improve personal sign-up performance.

 

Efficient Service and Staff Support:  (40%)


• Operate point-of-sale system with accuracy in sales, shipping, and inventory management.

• Follow assigned Set up and Break down schedules in tasting rooms

• Re-stock wine, glassware and operational supplies as needed

• Maintain clean and well-stocked Tasting Room.

• Participate in set up and clean up of tours and tastings

• Stock wine and merchandise, daily. Keep accurate daily wine inventories, including breakage.

• Participate in monthly inventories

• Communicate with VC management and Promotions Coordinator weekly regarding supply and wine ordering

• Wash and dry glassware and food service utensils, according to health-code standards.

• Execute 100% accuracy cash reconciliation and deposit delivery to bank.

• Required to participate in a lead capacity at DCC events.

• At least 4 years experience in wine education / hospitality industry.

- Maintain clean and well-stocked Tasting Bar, during prep, throughout service and close-down.

- Keep ALL tables clear of glassware and service ware, wiped clean for visiting guests.

- Stock wine and keep accurate daily inventories.

- Assist in set up and break down of public, private, and group tours.



Set-up and Close-down: (10%)


- Follow opening checklist, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner and the Tasting Salon is fully cleaned, stocked, and ready for guests by opening time.

- Initiate closing tasks and follow closing checklist ensuring that all closing tasks are performed, and the Tasting Salon is clean, stocked and ready for the opening staff.

Education : High School Diploma

Languages : Fluent in English language, second language helpful in communication with visiting public.

Professional experience & know how:

At least 2 years in wine education/hospitality industry.

Seasonal Host / Hostess at Domaine Chandon Visitor Center

The Visitor Center is currently seeking a Seasonal Host / Hostess.

Main Responsibilities:
- Customer Service
- Reservations
- Administration

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.

Languages: Fluent English Required. Bilingual Spanish/French preferred.

Professional Experience and Know How:
- One year restaurant experience preferred.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service in a tasting room setting. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Required to participate in regularly scheduled educational sessions given by the Visitor Center. Must show interest in furthering knowledge of wine and culinary industry.
- Must have professional appearance and pay special attention to personal hygiene.
- Must have experience using Microsoft Word applications. Intermediate computer skills required.
- Experience using Open Table reservation system preferred.
- Intimate knowledge of Napa Valley wineries, restaurants, and hotels preferred.

- Must be able to communicate clearly and quickly with service and culinary teams all pertinent information related to reservations, guest needs, and tasting room activity.

Seasonal Salon Cook

Domaine Chandon is currently seeking a Seasonal Salon Cook.

The Seasonal Salon Cook prepares and cooks food according to the instructions of Visitor Center Manager in a quality and timely manner, while exhibiting excellence in customer service, in order to create a world-class experience for every guest.

Culinary:  (65%)

  • Prepares food / sandwiches for Visitor Center guests and staff, following recipe or ingredient instructions.
  • Cooks food properly and in a timely fashion, using all appropriate safety precautions.
  • Communicate with other salon cooks and VC staff to ensure food is prepared on time.
  • Ensures high quality of plate presentation.
  • Train other salon cooks when necessary.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure food is received at proper temperature quality.

 Sanitation:  (15%)

  • Comply with scheduled salon cook station sanitation and ensure all standards and practices are met, by maintaining clean and well-stocked Salon cook station.
  • Use of all food handling standards.
  • Ensure use of First In First Out system.
  • Maintain system of control for storage temperatures and proper functioning of kitchen equipment.
  • Wash and dry plates and cooking equipment, according to health-code standards.

 Customer service:  (20%)

  • Perform food cooking/service as well as consistently discuss benefits of food and wines pairing, by representing Domaine Chandon in a professional manner.
  • Help/Assist when necessary for keeping tables clear of glassware and service ware, wiped clean for visiting guests.

 

Education: a graduate of an Accredited Culinary School a plus. High School diploma or GED  

 Languages: English, French/Spanish a plus

 Professional experience and essential requirements:

  • 1 year fine dining food experience a plus.
  • Teamwork and inter-personal communication oriented

 Technical skills:

  • Thorough knowledge food products and cooking techniques (i.e. knifes skills, sauté, proper cooking temperature, etc…);
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, to multi task in a fast paced salon environment.

Domaine Chandon Visitor Center is currently seeking a Seasonal Dishwasher.

Main Responsibilities

Sanitation:  (50%)
• Responsible for using proper steps to attain sanitation
• Washing all cooking and eating utensils
• Comply with scheduled kitchen sanitation and ensure all standards and practices are met

Culinary: (50%)
• When necessary, prepares food for dining room guests and staff, following recipe or ingredient instructions.

Newton Vineyard is seeking for a Seasonal Newton Ambassador.

 

Tours, Tastings and Retail Sales (65%)

  • Represent Newton products and the brand in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Deliver tours and tastings to visitors as required on the work schedule (includes consumers and trade visitors)
  • Serve and discuss wines and wine tasting comparisons and profiles.
  • Discuss food and wine combinations.
  • Operate AMS point-of sale system, receiving either cash or credit card.

Operations (25%)

  • Conduct monthly wine inventory of Retail wines and merchandise

  • Ensures high quality of plate presentation.
  • Train other salon cooks when necessary.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure food is received at proper temperature quality.

 Sanitation:  (15%)

  • Comply with scheduled salon cook station sanitation and ensure all standards and practices are met, by maintaining clean and well-stocked Salon cook station.
  • Use of all food handling standards.
  • Ensure use of First In First Out system.
  • Maintain system of control for storage temperatures and proper functioning of kitchen equipment.
  • Wash and dry plates and cooking equipment, according to health-code standards.

 Customer service:  (20%)

  • Perform food cooking/service as well as consistently discuss benefits of food and wines pairing, by representing Domaine Chandon in a professional manner.
  • Help/Assist when necessary for keeping tables clear of glassware and service ware, wiped clean for visiting guests.

 

Education: a graduate of an Accredited Culinary School a plus. High School diploma or GED  

 Languages: English, French/Spanish a plus

 Professional experience and essential requirements:

  • 1 year fine dining food experience a plus.
  • Teamwork and inter-personal communication oriented

 Technical skills:

  • Thorough knowledge food products and cooking techniques (i.e. knifes skills, sauté, proper cooking temperature, etc…);
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, to multi task in a fast paced salon environment.
