Legend has it the Sidecar cocktail originated at the Parisian Ritz Hotel circa 1920s, named for an American Army captain stationed in Paris, who was fond of the drink and often arrived—you guessed it—via motorcycle sidecar. In Yountville, circa 2010, we’ve added our own sparkling flourishes to this timeless classic:
Add 3/4 ounce of Chandon Brandy, 3/4 ounce of Grand Marnier®, 1/4 ounce simple syrup, 3/4 ounce of lemon juice and ice into a cocktail shaker; shake vigorously. Strain into a cocktail glass and top with Chandon Reserve Brut. Garnish with a lemon twist.
