Pink Party

Thursday, October 1, 2009

Our fourth annual Pink Party on October 1st, 2009 drew over 600 Club Chandon revelers to our Yountville winery, most wearing their finest pink attire. Guests enjoyed Chandon Rosé, Blanc de Noirs and our Unoaked Rosé in addition to pink-hued appetizers and small bites made by the etoile Restaurant for the event. Pink sparkling cocktails made with Chandon wines and Modmix cocktail mixers were a hit as guests danced to the beats of DJ Dukes. Chandon would like to thank all of this year's sponsors, volunteers and attendees — and especially the generous benefactors who purchased fine wines and luxury items in our silent auction, helping us raise $16,000 for Breast Cancer Research at the Queen of the Valley Hospital.

Hornblower Cruise

Saturday, October 10, 2009

200 Club Chandon Prestige members enjoyed San Francisco's annual Fleet Week celebration on San Francisco Bay on October 10th, 2009. Attendees boarded Hornblower's "Empress" yacht, chartered exclusively for Club Chandon Prestige members and were greeted with a glass of etoile Brut to get the day started on the right track. Guests nibbled on delicious hors d'oeuvres and were the first to sip our newly released 2007 Carneros Pinot Noir as they mingled with winemakers James Kress and Tom Tiburzi. Guests were entertained by the impressive aerial acrobatics, and while the Blue Angels were unable to fly on Saturday due to the Bay Area's famous fog, everyone enjoyed the day on the bay and stunning views of San Francisco.

Tastemaker Dinner at etoile Restaurant

Sunday, October 25, 2009
6:30pm Sparkling Wine Reception, 7:00pm Dinner Seating

George Taber, author of "Judgment of Paris," has written a new book “In Search of Bacchus: Wanderings in the Wonderful World of Wine Tourism”. In this book due out next month, Taber succinctly explains how Napa Valley became to be known as the first - and most successful - destination for wine lovers through both historical and first-hand perspectives.

To celebrate the launch of this book and some of the individuals who helped create this destination that now draws more than 5 million visitors each year, Domaine Chandon will hold a dinner with George Taber. George will share first-hand accounts of researching tourism here in the Napa Valley with help from vintners who have been actively involved in the Napa Valley since the 1970s. Janet Trefethen (Trefethen Vineyards), Su Hua Newton (Newton Vineyard) and Dawnine Dyer (longtime winemaker at Domaine Chandon, currently of Dyer Vineyard) will also be on hand to pour library selections of their wines and share their recollections of the “good-old days”.

This evening should prove to be insightful and fun for Napa Valley locals and folks who wish they were. Signed book included for each guest. Limited seating capacity.

Three course menu and wine pairing with signed book –  $125 per guest.
