Mt. Veeder Vintage Brut, 2007
Aging Profile: Minimum of 4 years on the yeast
With this release of our 2007 Vintage Brut, we showcase the Chardonnay fruit of Mt. Veeder, a unique mountain estate known for its long growing season and very low yields. The steep mountain vineyard in close proximity to the cool fog of the San Pablo Bay, the vineyard site produces high-quality Chardonnay with bright acidity. This wine is aged for four years on the lees lending layers of complexity and a rich mouthfeel to the finished wine.
Crisp aromas of lemon meringue, almond and honey combine with a very rich mouthfeel. Flavors of poached pear, toasted brioche and marzipan harmonize with a subtle facet of white peach leading to a persistent finish.
The layers of flavor in this wine pair with a wide range of foods. We suggest trying this with scallops, crab, roasted chicken, goat or brie cheese with fig compote and brunch selections like savory crepes or poached eggs with prosciutto and brioche.
