Pinot Noir, Carneros 2016
Pinot Noir is recognized for its versatility and the 2016 is no exception. This wine would be delicious when opened with barbequed salmon, slow-cooked short ribs, a portobello mushroom burger, or some eggplant parmesan.
Winemaking and More
Regarded as yet another spectacular vintage, 2016 was dry and hot, as it was another year of drought in California. Not hot spikes however, allowed us to pick fruit at optimal ripeness without sacrificing the acidity that is the hallmark of fruit grown in our Carneros vineyard. This vintage was a blend of two Burgundian clones picked and fermented separately. It spent ten and a half months aging in 100% French oak barrels, 30% of which were new.
