At Chandon, we’re a global community of winemakers dedicated to local wine production, or as we like to say, “a domain where the sun never sets.” With six wineries around the world in California, Argentina, Brazil, Australia, China, and India, we bring a unique and local approach to each, with a common passion for sparkling wine and the land that shapes it.

When our founder Robert-Jean de Vogüé set his sights on bringing centuries of winemaking know-how to the then-untouched landscape of Napa Valley, Chandon California was born. With the perfect recipe of climate, soil, and terrain, Napa was virtually destined to create some of the best wine ever crafted. It’s our job to take the unique essence of the landscape and bottle it up, so that through our sparkling wine, you can taste a little bit of California in your glass. 

 

Our Chandon Home

While our guests visit us in our Visitor’s Center in Yountville, our Napa home consists of several local vineyards: Yountville, Mount Veeder, and Carneros. These estates have become the inspiration for our Vintage Appellation Series created to showcase grapes exclusively sourced from each region. We take pride in these distinct growing regions of Napa, and the unique ways they shape the character of our California sparkling.

The earth gives us our grapes. We’ve always felt a sense of responsibility to care for it in return. After all, making and enjoying wine is a privilege.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do in California and around the world. When there’s a way to be kinder to the earth, we’re interested. For starters, we’re researching ways to produce lighter bottles, and environmentally friendly labels and corks ––and we’ve already managed to reduce our bottle weight by 25%! We can all cheers to that.

Sustainability starts at home. Here’s a little taste of how we’re working to make our earth greener at Chandon California:


-Restoration and encouragement of natural habitats in Napa.

-Minimal or no herbicide use.

-Manual (instead of chemical) disease and pest control, including visual inspection, appropriate vine pruning and training.

-Encouragement of natural pollinators and predators using bird and bee houses.

-Cover cropping to encourage biodiversity, vineyard temperature regulation and water savings.

-Plastic recycling, waste collection, waste water recycling and onsite treatment, and cleanup projects including recycling education.

-Community-garden projects and health and nature education, focusing on growing vegetables and integrating them into healthy nutrition, and vertical herb gardens using recycled waste plastic containers.
